Sweet & Spicy Pork Ears Adobo
I go to Westzone for my weekly grocery. I stumbled upon a certain pork product wrapped in a cling film. I inspected carefully the item and to my surprise... It was pork ears! I never knew there were pork ears available here. Then, I decided to cook Pork Ears Adobo with Oyster Sauce & Cola.
What you will need:
1 kg. Pork Ears (washed & dehaired)
4 whole eggs
1 can coca cola
2 tbsp. oyster sauce
ginger (finely chopped)
red pepper flakes
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. whole peppercorns
chili pepper (green or red)
oil
garlic (minced)
onion (minced)
salt
pepper
What you will do:
1. Boil the pork ears for 1 hour. Remove the pork and discard the water. Set aside.
2. Boil the eggs for 3-5 minutes. Peel the eggs. Set aside.
3. In a pot, sautee red pepper flakes, garlic, ginger, onions then add the pork ears. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Add water, bay leaves, whole pepper corns, oyster sauce and cola. Bring to a boil then lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
5. Add the eggs and chilli pepper and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
6. Serve with steamed rice.
